Bobbie McDonnell is a Costume Trainee
Bobbie began her education at Ballyfermot College of Further Education completing a HND in Fibre Art and Textile Design. She then moved to Canada and worked in Textiles and Weaving for two years. Having always had an interest in costume design, she began a four-year BA in IADT studying Design for Stage and Screen in 2016. In her third year she was selected as costume co-designer on the IADT/RIAM co-production Banished. She has also worked as a trainee in professional productions such as the BBC Series ‘Little Women’ and 'Normal People', The History Channel’s ‘Vikings’, 'Miss Scarlet and The Duke', as well as many other commercial projects.
Having gained experience in a workroom envirnoment on the 2019 production The Green Knight, Bobbie is interested in gaining further knowledge and skills by working as a maker in TV and Film productions. She would like to progress as a designer with a view to working as a co-designer on future projects.
